MOBILE MEALS OF THE GRAND STRAND

Mobile Meals of the Grand Strand (MMGS) is composed of Mobile Meals of the North Strand, Mobile Meals of Myrtle Beach and Mobile Meals of the South Strand.  We are a qualified 503c (3) nonprofit organization.  Our ministry to serve those in need is supported solely by volunteers throughout Horry County.  We work hand in hand with dozens of churches throughout the county to solicit and coordinate those volunteers.  This includes the administrative personnel, client interviewers, drivers, packers and the runners who deliver the meal to the clients home with a warm friendly greeting.  Emergency contacts are notified immediately if there are signs of distress at time of delivery.

The purpose of Mobile Meals is to provide meal service to the ill, elderly, disabled, shut-ins and other persons in Horry County who are handicapped in their ability to obtain adequate nutrition for themselves.  These nutritious ready to eat meals are delivered to the client's residence Monday through Friday including holiday meal delivery.  Holiday meals are delivered on the day of the holiday or before depending on the caterer's schedule.  While financial status is not a factor in determining eligibility for the meal, those that can afford to contribute to the cost of the meals are asked to do so.

Funding for this ministry is provided by the numerous supporting churches and meal payments from clients who have the ability to pay as well as from civic groups, individuals, and various foundations in the county.  Mobile Meals of the Grand Strand is a United Way partner.
